Meeting Baby Brother For The First Time Boston MA Hospital Photographer

There’s something incredibly special about Fresh 48 sessions—those first quiet hours after birth, when everything is new and tender and real. This hospital session at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA was no exception. I had the honor of documenting a growing family of five as they welcomed their newest little one and captured the unforgettable moment when two proud big brothers met their baby brother for the very first time.

This sweet family invited me to their hospital room to preserve the emotions and details of this huge milestone: becoming a family of five. Their older sons had just become big brothers and were so excited to meet the baby. The original plan was to stop by the hospital in their everyday clothes—but since there wasn’t a soccer game that day, they made a special choice: they showed up proudly wearing their uniforms, eager to introduce themselves in full team spirit. It was such a sweet and personal touch!

Fresh 48 sessions take place within the first two days after birth, right in the hospital. The rooms can be tight and the lighting can definitely be challenging—but that’s part of what I love about this type of work. Knowing how to work with hospital light and space is a huge part of what I bring to every session. With a careful eye and creative angles, I made the most of the natural window light and used my experience to make the family feel comfortable in front of the camera, despite the small space.

This session was full of heart: excited big brothers waiting to hold their baby brother, proud parents cuddling their three boys, and tiny newborn details that change so quickly. These are the moments that slip by if they’re not documented—and I’m so grateful to preserve them for families between Southern New Hampshire and Boston, MA
